and Martin del Rosario (Nico). Jewel lives a simple life in an urban apartment. She
rarely get out of her room at daytime except if she wants to breath fresh air in the
building terrace. Aside from being simple, she has a horrible secret that is different
to normal tenants in the building. She is a manananggal or a flying creature that will
temporarily separate from her lower body to look for victims to quench her thirst of
blood.
When her stomach begins to feel uneasy which is actually an unusual hunger, she needs
to rub some oil to go back to normal and that's where she needs to go out as a party
girl and look for someone that will join her in the dark to also become her victim. The
victims are usually males with their flesh torn apart from their bodies. She also
placed some signboards in the victim's body stating that "I am a pusher.." to make them
look like a murder victim involving drug issues.
Later, Nico and her grandmother settled on the same building which made them close even
in a short time. However, after watching the news that someone was murdered where he
saw Jewel get in that guy's car, he stayed away from Jewel for a while. They again get
along later on when she helped Nico pay the hospital bills when his grandmother got
sick which later died.
One night, due to extreme sadness, they immediately get along again and started making
out but Jewel felt the same problem and left Nico from his room. Nico followed her and
he witnessed how Jewel transformed and get out of the building with her current form.
When she got back, Nico stayed and again witnessed how Jewel returned to human form.
The neighbors also noticed that incident due to the noise that Jewel made.
Before the police arrived, Nico took Jewel away from the area and decided to go with
her anywhere wherever life love leads them.
