The Ghost Bride is a 2017 pinoy horror movie starring Kim Chiu as Mayen. The story started when Mayen's dad became sickly and she don't have much to give him proper medications. Aside from that, they also have other problems in the family.
One day, Angie (Alice Dixson) had a business proposal to Mayen offering large amount of money in exchange for becoming a Ghost Bride. This is a Chinese tradition wherein someone has to marry a dead man with conditions to always wear the bracelet as a sign of agreement. A special wedding ritual is also done to bind the two.
At first, Mayen agreed and wore the bracelet which was strictly emphasized by Angie if she doesn't want bad things to happen to her family. However, when she started to experience strange things, she tried to remove the bracelet from her wrist but it keeps coming back every time she removed it.
Removing the bracelet also resulted some strange illnesses to her dad and also danger to the rest of the family members. She also experience how the bracelet defended her when someone tried to do bad things to her like her businessman neighbor. With these incidents, she tried to investigate on the other consequences of this ritual. Afterwards, Mayen discovered that Angie is a member of a syndicate that always recruit girls to become a Ghost Bride.
To get away from the agreement, Mayen has to fight and claim his father's soul from the groom which she also needs to fly to China. They also need to do a counter ritual to prevent the bad spirit to do harm to her other family members. Mayen succeeded after fighting the spirit of the groom which placed her life in greater danger.
