The Healing

The Healing is a 2012 pinoy horror movie that that talks about successive deaths of Seth's (Vilma Santos) neighbors after they are healed by a fate healer. It all started when Manang Elsa (Daria Ramirez) became popular because she have cured many diseases that even hospitals cannot and that's why Seth tried to bring his father Odong (Robert Arevalo) who is suffering from stroke to Manang Elsa believing that she can heal her father. After few touches on her father, Manang Elsa prescribed her herbal medicines for her father to take to heal thoroughly. Before they can go back at home Manang Elsa's house was shattered when one of the patients collapsed and the people was then taken inside for Manang Elsa to check. At home Seth gave his father the prescribed herbal medicines that Manang Elsa advised and let him drink. In the morning Seth was surprised when his father was not in his bed anymore and later his son Jed (Martin del Rosario) told her that Odong is outside talking with neighbors and already can walk. That's the time she believed that Manang Elsa really is a true healer. Few days after, her neighbors approached her and ask her to accompany them to Manang Elsa because they want to be healed also from breast cancer, goiter, skin diseases and many more.

Aside from them, Seth's step daughter Cookie (Kim Chiu) is also suffering unknown skin disease that slowly weaken her, so Jed ask Seth to go with them to Manang Elsa but because of the conflicted schedule Seth was only able to accompany her neighbors who were the first to ask her for help. Upon arriving in Manang Elsa's house, her brother Melchor (Joel Torre) stopped them because he said that the healer is not feeling well and getting weak because of how many she has already healed for the past days but Manang Elsa surprisingly opened her windows and let them get in to be healed. Also after Seth's neighbors were healed Jed and Cookie also arrived and accommodate themselves for healing. After that all her neighbors started to notice that their diseases are gone and they are healed and so with Cookie. They celebrated as thanksgiving for the good things that happened to them but after that they have noticed something strange when one of their neighbors Chona (Ces Quesada) was acting so differently after healed from his goiter. She seemed silent and unapproachable. After that incident, Seth also dreamed black birds inside her house and later saw Chona going out which seemed came from inside her house. Later they heard the news that Chona is dead due to suicide but before it happened she already acted so insane killing her neighbors that have passed by their house. This shocked them all and it didn't happened once when another neighbor also acted strange and like Chona also killed others and commits suicide.

This incident repeatedly happens to every one of them who were healed by Manang Elsa. So Seth went to Manang Elsa's house and investigates why this happens but as soos as he got there a bad news was revealed by Melchor that Manang Elsa was killed after healing Seth's neighbors. Melchor told her that Dario (Jhong Hilario), the one who collapsed after Seth's father was healed died during that time but Manang Elsa restored him and live again. That's why all the people that were healed after Dario lived one by one died because it cursed all the souls that were given to Dario, that's why he killed Manang Elsa to live forever taking the souls of the healed people. The only way to stop the curse is kill Dario, so Seth tried to talk and even tried to poison Dario but she can't do it so the curse continues until she realized that Cookie will be the last to die. Almost all of her healed neighbors died one by one, Seth also discovered that once she will see a duplicate being of her neighbors that the signal that he/she will be next. So they decided to watch over Cookie if she will act strange and Jed make his way to setup a surveillance camera to watch over Cookie. As the time goes, Cookie successfully escaped from her duplicate that will take over her once they will meet but later on ended to Seth's house and attempted to kill her since Cookie's duplicate already had her controlled. They struggled inside the house and even his son Jed was nearly possessed by evil duplicate but they are all saved when Melchor successfully entered prison with a gun and shoot Dario to death.

The movie was full of surprises and shock that everyone can chill on. It ended bloody also but was saved by exciting situations since her step daughter Cookie should be the last victim. Everything was ended by the death of Dario... I guess. The quick end might be a sign for a next horror movie.

White House

White House talks about a haunted house in Baguio that is known to haunting everyone who stays that house and many testimonials arouse that they heard many unexplained noise at that house which no one is inside. The house is featured as a reality show on TV where contestants who joined should be inside the house for five nights and they are not allowed to bring communication devices like phones and radios.

When their night started everyone witnesses scary scenes inside the house that made each one to be dead by shock and this leads Jet, a paranormal expert to investigate what had happened inside the haunted house and who was really responsible for all these haunting. This lead him the Black Lady who was inside the house and also taken the souls of the contestants and use them to fight against him and also taken hostage of the soul of her daughter.

This horror and action packed movie adds the thrill in it and every scene was made of a shocking revelations among the characters. The movie is filled with faith and courage towards the end.

Aswang

The story is about the Abuwak race where they are another kind of Aswang family. As the generations passes they are already outnumbered and the only way to make their race to grow in numbers again is through the power of incoming Abuwak Queen, Hasmin that possesses a vulnerable ability of their kind.

Every member of the Abuwak race is normally human and when nature calls can transform themselves into a raven type of bird and can also pass underground like Bayawak or monitor lizards that is high advantage to take their victims down without being noticed in whether daytime or nighttime. Every time they attack the village everyone is making their way to run and hide against them and their soon-to-be queen is against that doings even if she is one of them so she protected humans against the worst members of her kind.

As the urban boys came to the village to search for the two lost children, they have been warned by Hasmin that if they will stay longer on the village it might be dangerous to all of them but because of faith they stayed and fight over the worst.

The movie is also action packed that killers attacked the village where Abuwak members are know to be there and this leads to the more conflict between the mortal villains and the Abuwak's furious members.

Tarot

Tarot is a 2009 pinoy horror movie that talks about the knowledge and power of fortune telling or tarot cards reading that caused misfortunes to the people around the one who has it. Cara (Marian Rivera) was trained by her Lola Auring (Gloria Romero) about tarot reading and tell the future of anyone wishing to know it. It so happened that she lost her boyfriend Miguel (Dennis Trillo) in the forest after they got lost. There's no trace of him around the woods. After the incident she came home in vain and still wishing that Miguel is alive and she doesn't lost her hopes to find him again. Her friends go back to the forest and search for possible traces of Miguel but they just end up getting tired finding nothing. One day Cara decided to use her knowledge in tarot reading that she learned from her late Lola Auring (Gloria Romero) just to find Miguel.

While on the table with her mother Diana (Susan Africa), she find some spells to make the tarots work and show him the answers. Upon trying, the tarots slowly gave her the answers to where she can find Miguel in the forest. So after getting the answers she wanted, they go back to the forest with his friends and there she find a trap hole where she suspected that Miguel fell into earlier before she was rescued by someone. They keep searching the woods until they find a small hut which Miguel is inside being healed by an old man. After finding Miguel, they took him to the hospital to heal his wounded leg. Few days after, Cara and Miguel started to dream and see a horrible veiled lady. The horrible veiled lady kept on appearing to them in their dreams and anywhere they are alone. The lady has horrible face covered with veil. At first, only the two of them saw the horrible veiled lady in their dreams but later on their friends also claimed that they saw a lady in veil. Because of this incident, Cara predicted that a female related to her will die in water and she thought it was Faye (Roxanne Guinoo) so she called her and ask if she's okay and in the second call which Cara should warn her she didn't answer because she was listening to music while on the pool. Cara rushed to her but luckily she's safe.

Later they saw Diana falling off the building. Earlier before Diana died, she already saw a veiled lady when the brownout occurred in their unit and disregarded it. While Miguel and Cara's maid tried checking the switches Diana saw Cara's look-alike crying so she tried to comfort her but later find out that it was the horrible veiled lady who tricked her. They struggle as Diana tried to escape from the veiled lady from pulling her off the building. Miguel and Cara's maid came to rescue her but didn't succeed so she died falling off the building shouting that it was the horrible veiled lady. Later Cara discovered that it was her mother whom she predicted to die in water.

On the grave, Upeng - a friend of Lola Auring came and told Cara that things happened because she used the forbidden tarot cards which should not be used again after Lola Auring died and she warned Cara that to stop the curse she needs to save the next victim. Cara used again the tarot cards and predicted that the next victim will be another female with a child which she suspects that it was Miguel's sister who is still pregnant. So she told Miguel to watch over her pregnant sister but during the rehearsal for Miguel and Cara's wedding, Miguel sister suddenly shed blood and taken to the hospital for medical attention. Later, they also find out that Roxanne is also pregnant and later Miguel confessed to Cara that it was his baby despite of their relationship. Cara was hurt after the revelation. On the other hand, Upeng also was hit by a truck after seeing the horrible veiled lady inside the jeepney which she should take but before dying she told her daughter to give the pictures to Cara. So, beyond Cara's knowledge she looks after Upeng and find out that she's dead and took the pictures that might lead her to answers.

Later she learned that his friend's grandmother Lola Nena is knowledgeable about spirits so she talked to her and Cara find out that it was her Lola Auring's third friend and she told Cara that due to her knowledge in tarot cards she already possessed the black magic. She told Cara that before they are members of a cult led by El Señor (Dante Rivero) whom they escaped from before ordering everyone to kill themselves to save the world but before they escaped Auring took the El Senior's tarot cards since she was the one who possessed the skills of a fortune teller. So stop the curse they need to return the cards to the spirits who were searching for it which they suspected to be ordered by El Senior. On the other hand, Miguel also discovered that Cara is pregnant and she might be the next victim to die, so she followed Cara into the woods. Soon Cara discovered that the El Señor is still alive and it was his grandfather who also happened to be the one who saves Miguel from the trap hole. They struggled in the woods as the spirits still chased them even if they already buried the tarot cards.

To end the curse, El Señor must kill himself so he sacrificed himself for Cara. In the other side of the forest, Miguel was also tricked by a Cara look-alike when it appeared to him crying but as soon as Cara came, the look-alike turned into a horrible veiled lady and pushed Miguel off the hill. Cara tried to save him but after he asks forgiveness he fell off dead. Cara still go back to the hill sometimes to where Miguel died that always remind her of their happy and now with their baby named Miguelito.

The movie is full of thrill and horror scenes are shocking and a must see horror movie to those who haven't seen it. The story about fortune telling depicts that possessing such skills can be harmful not to the predicted people but also to the fortune teller who has it.

Corazon Ang Unang Aswang

Corazon Ang Unang Aswang is a 2012 Filipino/Pinoy Horror Movie in 1946 setting and Aswang means a flesh eating creature in the night. The movie talks about the couple Corazon and Daniel who lived in a local village. Corazon's mother was rumored as prostitute in war where almost everybody in the village know. Every time Corazon meet the people around they keep talking about her family. They lived a simple life when Corazon decided to take action because after their years of marriage she never get pregnant. She consulted native medicine experts in the village and one suggested that she would try something that has to do with miracles so she tried to sacrifice and pray to have a baby. Later then she get pregnant and Daniel gets excited of it.

Before she get pregnant she met Melinda, an old woman rumored to be one of the Aswang in the village that eats human flesh but this was not proven aside from rumors. The killings in their village was made by the land lord to scare them to work on his land. Daniel always warned Corazon not to get in touch with Melinda because of what everbody's saying and Melinda was killed in one of the encounters in the village even if Corazon defended her.

When Corazon get pregnant she is very excited of her baby and taking care of her condition. The time has come that she gave birth to her baby but the didn't cry and the local midwife confirmed that the baby is dead. Corazon cannot believe that the baby is dead she kept the baby for days and blame everybody for what happened. One day she take the baby away and blame God for what happened. Because of her anger he ate the baby's dead body and promised that she will take vengeance and no baby will cry anymore in the village. From them she started to eat flesh from wild animals and days come that she started to eat little girls in the village and killing them.

Daniel is tired of searching her since she's been lost for a long time already. Victims goes higher when everybody's alarmed to who's the killer and blamed Aswang for that. One night an encounter happened with Daniel's friend and identified Corazon as the Aswang. Corazon killed many kids in the village and almost killed one of her friend but she got away when she identified her. The village people searched for the rumored monster that is killing their kids.

The movie ended when Corazon and Daniel meet again and Daniel's friend let them get away before the village people will kill them if they will see Corazon and that is the legend of the first Aswang in the far rural areas.

Sukob

Sukob is a 2006 Filipino/Pinoy horror movie which means cursed when sisters have their wedding at the same date. The wedding curse is tied by long lost sisters where coincidentally had their wedding and at the same date at different churches. Out of their knowledge that Kris has a younger sister played by Claudine which was not recognized by her since they were kids. They have the same father but of different mother. When the two have their marriage at the same time but different place the church's bell sounded different as it was for the dead but they ignored it. The next few days is shocking when Claudine's husband fell off the roof and died and the next few days the ghost of her husband shows himself from then and nowhere and that made her wonder what's the message that implies.

On the other hand Kris's friends and other close people to her died and they don't know what happened, her husband even died but the physical bod cannot be recovered. It was the curse servant who took their family members and friends away without a trace. They then investigated separately on what happened and Claudine discovered that she has a long lost sister and she wanted to find here. Accidentally, the two met and both work out on how to solve the wedding curse that binds them together.

The movie ended when they go back to the church where it all started and they discover that the curse needs to get a life from the two of them and when the curse servant showed up and Kris jumped off to fall from the church tower and died. Her father learned this and see his daughter dead. Only Claudine lives and that ended the curse.

Barang

Barang is a 2006 Pinoy Horror movie which means the cursing of evil spell to someone who have made bad things to someone. The movie is scary and full of thrill. It talks about a lady who has been cursed by a Barang and suffered strange and unexplained things upon the effect of the curse. The curse started when group of teenagers had their vacation in the province to be with their elders because one of them had her sister died recently and while walking on the street they encountered an old woman and the lady accidentally bumped her but in spite of saying sorry she insulted the old woman so the old woman who was also the Barang cursed a spell after the incident and the next day the lady started to not feeling well and had spots starting to grow on her skin. From then on, the skin spots grows fast everyday and getting worst. They also saw a ghost of the dead sister on the house.

On the other side Tikboy was helping her mother in selling organic medicines and anti-barang kits on the front of the church. The boy often wonders on the woods and saw the old woman's house whom he had seen her cursing an evil spell but she noticed him so the boy get out from that placed and go home. Later, then the boy was given a toy by mad neighbor Tomas and it was a stingray's tail which is known to be effective in contrasting barang spells. One night the Barang followed him at home but every whip of the tail it hurts to the barang so the old woman got away from the boys home who is together with her mother that time. The Barang even sent them food at first look but later turned into worms after driving the Barang away.

Many of the victims in town are found dead after strange things coming out of their body and many are saying that this was done by such Barang and the victims were suspected that they've offended the Barang so they got that strange punishment.

The mother of the boy also knows how to heal the curse so she tried healing the lady but it didn't work so they find another way to cure it on the other way discovering that it's the old woman who cursed the young lady to suffer like that. They also discovered that the old woman is also responsible for the death of Thalia's sister Igna.

They tried to fight the curse and did the healing to the woman affected with Barang and using the whip the Barang also was hurt and attacked them at home. As the struggle continues the Barang was defeated by mother of Tomas using the stingray's tail and that also healed the woman from the curse of Barang.

Sa Piling ng Aswang

Sa Piling ng Aswang is a 1999 Filipino/Pinoy Horror film where Maricel Soriano plays as the elder sister where in search of his younger brother who was lost in the woods together with friends and left unexplained with what happened to them out there. Not contented of waiting she went out to search for them together with some friends including a soldier who accompanied them knowing the dangers in the woods.

Upon their search, they met strange people and also encountered unknown strangers that took some of her friends in the woods. They later discovered that the strangers who attacked them were the Aswang or the human turning monsters at night. As their journey goes on they have encountered many of them of who were really flesh eating humans. She also saw her younger brother's ghost in the woods that she later discovered that he's already dead and killed by the Aswang and also led her to meet the Queen of the Aswang people out there. They tried to escape from the place but because of her pity to one of the Aswang giving birth to a child and died after delivery she took the child and returned them to the family of Aswang and asked if they could go free in return of giving back the child to Aswang family.

Txt is a 2006 Filipino/Pinoy Horror film that is a showcase of scare and shock. The movie features lovers Joyce and Roman where Roman is a very jealous type boyfriend that when anyone had a even a single glance at Joyce he gets jealous that beat them. One night before the car accident happened Roman made a vow or in a spell that no one could take Joyce away from him and they will live forever, they both made a vow on this spell and the car accident happened that suddenly killed Roman and Joyce survived with injuries.

After the death of Roman, Joyce felt so sad and upset with the events that had happened and thankful also that her friends like Alex and other close friends stay with her. After few days something strange happens when Joyce receive haunted text messages from Roman sending his images to her while he's already buried. They thought that someone took Roman's phone and make a fool out of them but this happens consecutively and Joyce was already threatened and a bit scared.

The scary things started to happen then, when some of Joyce's friends started to die by answering Roman's haunted phone calls. Most of them were the Joyce's friends who hated Roman and not convinced that he should have Joyce forever. The multo or ghost of Roman started calling any of them and when they answered the call something unexplained happened to them that caused death instantly.

This also happens to Alex when the multo or ghost of Roman appeared to him is his work place. Roman also don't like Alex because it seems he had liked Joyce ever since then but Alex didn't appeared to be weak while threatened so death didn't got unto him. Alex and Joyce together find ways to discover this strange coming back of Roman through Joyce's phone sending haunted text messages and images where seems like he's always with them. They consulted it to a paranormal expert and at first didn't believe but he was also convinced afterwards. They tried to get the things that Roman left to Joyce and burned them but still the ghost is still there. The ghost of Roman always wanted Joyce to be with him but they were already threatened much by him.

Together Joyce and Alex do their best to solve this haunting but suddenly bumped another car and fell off the hill but lately Joyce discovered that Roman will use Alex body after she read the paranormal's text message who also happened to be the second car that they bumped. The story ends again with fear when Roman's soul was already on Alex body using it to be with Joyce again forever.

Vampira

Maricel plays the role of a lady vampire who came from a family of vampire and after escaping from being encouraged by his brother to kill humans to feed their hunger, she came to other place and get married. From then she feel so hard to get away from her real self when time comes that nature calls.

The movie is very interesting to watch because she was saved by the church when she believes that God can help her and she still can change for the sake of her family.

Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara

Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara means "kill Barbara with a shock", is a classic horror movie that talks about family and love triangle. Barbara and Ruth are sisters and when Barbara and Nick met they fell in love with each other. As their love story arouse Ruth confesses to Barbara that she also fell in love with Nick.

As the elder sister, Barbara gives way to Nick and Ruth and they got married as Barbara starts her new life away from them but even she's away Nick always finds a way to communicate with her and saying that he still loves her. As Ruth and Nick's marriage go along Ruth notices the difference of how Nick treated her, it seems that he is in love with somebody and that hurts her.

Their marriage was in trouble even if they already had a daughter that's Karen. Without any clue Ruth decided to commit suicide casting a curse that she would return to take vengeance to whoever Nick fell in love to, that was also witnessed by her daughter Karen.

After the death of Ruth, Barbara returned home and wondered about the mystery of Ruth's death. The following days was horrible when she started to dream about Ruth saying that's she's the reason why Nick doesn't love her. Karen also treated her differently and it seems that she don't like her Auntie. Barbara then started to see Ruth's images anywhere she goes and that's the start when Ruth's soul haunted them both but Nick and Barbara stays strong and fought the haunting.

The struggle between the soul of Ruth and both of them gets complicated when someone else dies because of her soul's vengeance. The story ended when Nick decided to go with Ruth's soul and he dies falling off the cliff.

Panday 2

Panday is a very old action horror movie that is until being remade with new concepts to make the movie still alive.

Panday is a dialect for metal molder and he is Flavio, he discovered a metal coming from the sky as a comet and molded it as his knife and whenever there as evil forces like monster, vampires and flying creatures the knife then turns into a sword.

His worst enemy is Lizardo which has the evil powers to control evil forces and kill people in their place. He battled the evil forces and defeat Lizardo in the end.

This movie has many versions and until now it being relived with newest actors and actresses. The story of Panday still lives on.

Ang Mahiwagang Daigdig ni Elias Paniki

Ang Mahiwagang Daigdig ni Elias Paniki is a classic pinoy horror movie about a local ghost buster in the far rural area of the Philippines. Elias Paniki is a known character in their place that has the physical and fantastic ability to fight over demons that has almost conquered their place.

Elias is only an ordinary grave digger in their place that is burying dead victims that was killed by the demons. After his wife and kids were taken by the evil forces and slain, Elias is in rage to have revenge to those responsible for the death of his family.

One night an old stranger appeared to him and gave his headband to Elias and said that he can only use the power when the old man is dead and this death will be noticed by Elias once the headband lighted and it happened after few months of waiting. The headband has a bat pasted in it that will appear at the forehead when he wears it, a symbol of a night dweller and demon slayer.

He then encountered many forms of evil forces and win the battle against them, along with him is an orphaned kid that has the same situation with Elias when his family was killed by evil forces. The demon also appeared to him mimicking his wife but Elias tried hard to overcome it and avoid being fooled. Elias also helped a woman who was possessed by the devil and became his love interest.

Here Comes The Bride

The movie is not much of a horror but a mysterious funny movie about individuals who experienced "soul displacement" after a car crash during solar eclipse. Their souls separate from their bodies and enter to another body that made them exchange personalities. The person involved in the story are:

a. a bride
b. a maid
c. and old man
d. a gay stylist
e. a prosecutor

Those personalities exchanged by time and they seemed to be insane in the eyes of the persons around them. The bride enters the prosecutors body which is her auntie, the old man enters the gay stylist body, the prosecutor to the maid's body, the maid to the old man's body and the gay stylist to the bride's body. This happens to the magnetic hill where at the time they crashed is also the time total solar eclipse occur which they suspected as phenomenon effect.

They tried to return to their own bodies by going to magnetic hill again and crashed their cars but along trying their souls entered again another bodies interchanging the five of them. After many attempts they succeeded at last and lived happily ever after.

Petrang Kabayo

This movie is not much of a horror movie but a fantasy comedy movie about human turning into a horse because of a curse.

The story tackles about Peter where in his younger days he was physically abused by her Father because of being gay and everything he does following his desires of dressing like a girl was against his Father. One day he decided to get away carrying nothing just to escape from the cruelty of his Father. He fainted in the street and a rich woman found him and adopt him as a member of her family.

Everything changes since he was adopted because his attitude also changes as he becomes rich. He became cruel to this service masters at home and even in their ranch workers who take care of their horses. One day he was cursed by a "mysterious horse god" that if he will do bad things to others he will turn into a horse and he can go back in his human form if he will do good things.So everytime he can't control himself in insulting others the transformation starts and the antidote for stopping the curse is when someone kiss him to the lips.

The twist of the story is very interesting because he also met his Father again and insulted him and found out that his Father was looking for him many years ago after he fled and married again that's why he has a little sister. Until then he learned to forgive his Father after all.

He surpassed the curse in the end when being a horse he do good things to help others and he also entered a horse race driven by his ranch worker that kissed him in the end that's why he became human again.

Comedy and drama combined that makes Vice Ganda a very flexible actor and comedian. The movie brings fun and laughter as you go along watching it to the end.

Segunda Mano

Segunda Mano is a 2011 pinoy horror movie that literally means "second hand". This movie talks about an antique shop owner, Mabel (Kris Aquino) haunted by her past when she lost her sister drowned at the beach in her younger years. She always saw her sister's ghost sometimes and even in her dreams. The twist of the story starts when she met Ivan (Dingdong Dantes) and fall in love with him. Ivan has a daughter with her separated her wife Mariella.

She also bought a bag to change her looks and make Ivan more attracted to her and make her daughter like her and trust her. Since she bought her bag strange things happened seeing things that she shouldn't see like the ghost of Mariella. People around her starts to die and worried if her bestfriend and her mother will be next.

Worried about the horrible things that had happened she realizes that the ghost of Ivan's wife has something to say to her or have a message like help.

As the story goes she found out that the only way to drive the ghost away from her is to break up with Ivan even if he already gave her engagement ring but Ivan doesn't agree with her so as what she was saying that she sees his wife's ghost.

The thrill starts when things owned by Mariella started to show up like the first bag, and then the dress and finally the car. She drove the car away from her bestfriend and the car takes her to where Mariella died. She found out that Mariella really cheated on Ivan with another man on the car and then Ivan followed them and killed the man and Mariella and drowned the car at the creek. That's why many are saying that the place is haunted because someone is showing late at night to the travelers.

The movie ends with struggle between Ivan and Mabel and the revelation that Ivan is the one responsible for all the killings that had happened. Ivan in his childhood witnesses his mother cheating on his father so it affected him and made him a secret psycho.

Mabel saves her mother from Ivan and the ghost of Mariella helped her to defeat Ivan and die in the pool. Later she discovered that Mariella is her lost sister and now she's in peace.
