Dalaw (2010)

Dalaw is a 2010 pinoy horror movie that literally means "the visitor". An unexpected visitor that haunts the couple and wants to avenge.

The movie talks about Stella (Kris Aguino) and Anton (Diether Ocampo) who get married after the death of Stella’s late ex-husband Danilo. The lived together happily with a kid and with another upcoming baby. While living on their own, Stella always dreamed her past and see strange scenes all over the place. He suspected that the one who she have always dreamed off and she always sees is the ghost of her late husband Danilo that want something to her. The old woman (Gina Pareño) with the third eye also confirmed that it was the Dalaw or the visitor that want something from her but her husband Anton didn’t believe with those claims.

The ghost gets stronger when as the time moves on. Later one of her friends died and the old woman also was killed by the ghost after seeing that the ghost is not Danilo but a woman whom also killed Anton''s mother falling off the stairs with her wheel chair. The ghost also started to scare Anton in his workplace but finds a way to get over. It was later then Stella discovered that the ghost was Lorna who was Anton''s ex-girlfriend who killed herself while still pregnant with Anton in his car and Anton buried her in the creepy places along the way and hide the incident.

The ghost wanted Stella to die with her baby also so she keeps coming back. Anton finds a way to learn that the dead body needs to be blessed for her to stop, so he decided to get a priest to go with him in the place where she buried Lorna (Karylle). The body was successfully blessed by the priest but Anton also died after successfully doing the needful to his former lover.

A nice movie to warn cheaters that they can just leave their third party behind and instead settle first or else worst things will happen unexpectedly.

White House (2010)

White House is a 2010 pinoy horror movie that talks about a haunted white house in Baguio, Philippines. The said is believed to be the house of unsettled spirits who scare everyone who gets inside the house. This was also supported by people who did an interview of their experiences inside the house. Some said that every night someone is walking and it seems like it has chains on its feet. Others also said that it’s not the White Lady they are scared of but instead the Black Lady inside the house.

As a paranormal expert, Jet (Gabby Concepcion), was asked by a friend, Coreen (Maricar Reyes) to work with her in her upcoming project of doing a horror reality TV show inside the house and she wants Jet to check the house for some possibilities of the hear says. Upon checking the house she takes with him her wife and daughter and warned them never to get inside the house if he didn’t come back. While checking inside he notices strange energy that triggers him to suspect that there were really ghosts inside the house. He followed some of them and struggle with strong energy that’s pulling him. Before he got out, her daughter wants to use the comfort room so her wife decided to take her daughter inside but on the way the ghost already followed them.

After Jet got out, he decided not to proceed in working with Coreen and warned them about the danger but it didn’t stop them to pursue the project. Many have joined as contestants to prove something and to win millions in just five nights of survival. In Jet’s house strange things happened when the ghost of the Black Lady take her daughter’s soul and the only thing to save her is to go back to the house and deal with the Black Lady, so as the horror reality TV show started, he joined inside the house and warned everyone to stay together while Coreen and company plans a surprise scare to all when one of her crew disguised as a ghost and scared them one by one but later was killed by the real Black Lady.

Later, Jet found out the legend of the Black Lady started when she married a man with children from the first wife the her husband died so she blame it to the kids and also killed them, that’s why her ghosts still exist inside the house. The only surprising moment is when he found out that the one who killing each one of them is the maid that is also with them and she is also the Black Lady. Together they fight her and defeat her being trapped in a mirror. The movie ended losing lives and sends Coreen to jail because of the death of the contestants inside the house that was blamed to her.

Babaeng Putik (2000)

Babaeng Putik is a 2000 classic pinoy horror movie that literally means "woman from the mud" and talks about Mark (Carlos Morales), a desperate writer who gets away from the city and decided to live in his uncle's rest house to find some inspiration or subject to write. Upon his stay in that place he gets bored and decided to go hunting wild animals in the forest for food consumption. Few days past he met neighbors Temyong and her daughter Maita (Joanne Miller) whom he offered meal and drink wine.

Later she gets close to Maita and somehow attempts to get her but she refused. Upon his hunting times he met Ben, a stranger that helped him while he fell off a hole. He never had a chance to talk to him much because he's gone after helping him. Few days again had passed when he met forest soldiers who asked him to be friend and later on food as they promised to help him in whatever he need in the future. They keep coming back to him asking for food and searching for Ben but Mark lied that he had not seen him. Some days and nights have passed and again the stranger Ben comes and drink wine with him and later offered something that can give him never ending happiness but warned him to test him flexibility and strong personality to face it. Ben gave him a seed that he need to plant when there's no moon and the fruit of it will give him the happiness he need.

A tree grew in the backyard bearing a muddy fruit and even the soldiers saw it but he lied saying it was a Japanese squash. One night the fruit cracked and a gorgeous lady is the inside that fruit that is the start of her happiness. This made his writing passion more productive. He had her many times a day, sex and everything but he didn't know that when he's asleep the girl he named Sally (Klaudia Koronel) will turn into a monster and kill whoever gets lost in the forest. His cousin came and stay with him that was later also killed along with Maita's parents too.

Later, the soldiers came to him and again ask for food but this time asks Sally to be with them. He agreed after seeing Sally’s real figure in the mirror and the expected happened, she killed them one by one. Mark led Sally into the trap hole and made her fall off but before she dies she had Mark and attempts to kill him but with the help of Maita he was saved and that ends Sally dead. Mark realizes it was a horrible experience and decided to take Maita with him to the city to start a new life.

The Strangers

The Strangers is a 2012 pinoy horror movie that is a about a family of human-eating monsters or the so called Aswang. They are not a normal family, they also lived with humans around and if they get a chance they will hunt humans for food.

There is a story told that before there was a sweet couple who lived peacefully in a rural area in the Philippines. The couple is out one night and suddenly they encountered these monsters and the wife was taken and eaten by the Aswang in the woods. After that incident the husband Dolfo (Enchong Dee) fled in the far part of the woods as he was suspected to be the one who killed her wife and also judged as one of the Aswang in thier place. Some feared him but others wanted him dead by setting traps in the woods. It was then Dolfo hated the Aswang and hunt them all throughout his life.

One day the family of Aswang, travelled for fun and vacation to a far place to explore. They even hit an old woman but never had the chance to find her after falling off the bridge. After a long travel, their car stacked and they decided to look for a place for shelter. Later they find a small locality near the woods and decided to stay their with the hospitality of the hosts.

While staying, Pat's (Julia Montes) and Max's (Enrique Gil) father took a walk into the woods along with their driver and there it goes the driver becomes the prey. Later the small crowd panic as they heard commotion between other locals that they have seen a monster and all helped in searching the monster. They didn't know that the ones that were left in the local's house are the predators. The old man was eaten by the family mother Evelyn (Cherrie Pie Picache) and their maid Paloma (Janice de Belen) saw the incident and shake in fear escaping her monster boss.

At the woods Dolfo and Pat met and he told Pat about what happened to her wife but later Dolfo found out that Pat is also one of them and wanted to kill him. Dolfo defended himself against Max and Pat but later died in the hands of Pat. No one successfully escaped from the incident that night and again the family of monsters (Aswang) own the night.

They lived along with humans and with other family members again they travel to find some thrill and quench their thirst of human blood.

Pridyider

Pridyider is a 2012 pinoy horror movie that is about a demonic appliances - a haunted classic refrigerator that eats animals and humans.

The story starts when Tina (Andi Eigenmann) moves back to their old home in the Philippines after years of being sent away to the United States to live with her aunt because of an incident involving her parents that the mystery has never been explained to her. Unfortunately for her, shes not alone in the house. The kitchen is home to a demonic, human-eating refrigerator.

After few days of staying in the house, she already noticed some of unexplained incidents like things getting back in place even if she already keep in the refrigerator, the lost cat, and even his friend was eaten by the refrigerator. 

In order for Tina to resolve the problem, she must dig into the past to discover the truth about what happened to her parents, and to find a way to defeat the infernal appliance. Later, Tina's father (Joel Torre) surprisingly approached to her and tell her the story why he keeps herself away from her after all these years.

He also met her childhood friend James (JM de Guzman). Together they fought the demonic refrigerator that was later discovered as controlled by her late mother thru a spell before she died.

Tina's father died after confronting the ghost of her wife and Tina survived and escaped the death that is bound by the haunted refrigerator.

Tiktik - The Aswang Chronicles

Tiktik is a pinoy horror movie that is set in far rural areas in the Philippines where the race of Aswang or Tiktik are rumored to still exist and live like normal along with other people in the village. These races are slaughtering for living among them.

The story just started when Makoy (Dingdong Dantes) came to see her pregnant girlfriend Tonya (Lovi Poe) after getting away from him in the city. Even if her mother doesn't like Makoy because of his angst attitude, he still stayed for good. The Aswang or Tiktik started to hate Makoy when he killed on of their member when it attacked Tonya inside the house because the Tiktik knows that she is pregnant and babies are very good in smell that attract the Aswang to eat it even if it's still inside the mother's womb. Tiktik are known to be baby eaters and some victims didn't even noticed until they die after thier babies are eaten.

Because of the death of the Tiktik's member the father take the other members with him and attack the house while parents of Tonya also helped him fight the Tiktik using ginger, sharp wedges and tail whip. The Tiktik dies one by one while they fight against them. And this alerted their superior (supremo) to rescue their race and plan to kill all inside the house along with their other members who turned into scary monster forms after their superior give them the saliva that can transform them into furious monsters. Every member of the Aswang is after of them all and also the baby and even the mother of Tonya was killed when two of the Tiktik members got into the house and killed her.

Together they fight against the Tiktik that lead them to go outside to hide the baby where Tonya already delivered while they are still fighting with the Tiktik members. The superior of the Tiktik turned into a flying monster that took the baby but didn't get too far and drop it because the baby has ginger already attached in the body just before they got out of the house. So that's the time Makoy killed the monster using the tail whip that is more sharp and powerful enough to kill the monster and stop the existence of their race.

The Healing

The Healing is a 2012 pinoy horror movie that that talks about successive deaths of Seth's (Vilma Santos) neighbors after they are healed by a fate healer. It all started when Manang Elsa (Daria Ramirez) became popular because she have cured many diseases that even hospitals cannot and that's why Seth tried to bring his father Odong (Robert Arevalo) who is suffering from stroke to Manang Elsa believing that she can heal her father. After few touches on her father, Manang Elsa prescribed her herbal medicines for her father to take to heal thoroughly. Before they can go back at home Manang Elsa's house was shattered when one of the patients collapsed and the people was then taken inside for Manang Elsa to check. At home Seth gave his father the prescribed herbal medicines that Manang Elsa advised and let him drink. In the morning Seth was surprised when his father was not in his bed anymore and later his son Jed (Martin del Rosario) told her that Odong is outside talking with neighbors and already can walk. That's the time she believed that Manang Elsa really is a true healer. Few days after, her neighbors approached her and ask her to accompany them to Manang Elsa because they want to be healed also from breast cancer, goiter, skin diseases and many more.

Aside from them, Seth's step daughter Cookie (Kim Chiu) is also suffering unknown skin disease that slowly weaken her, so Jed ask Seth to go with them to Manang Elsa but because of the conflicted schedule Seth was only able to accompany her neighbors who were the first to ask her for help. Upon arriving in Manang Elsa's house, her brother Melchor (Joel Torre) stopped them because he said that the healer is not feeling well and getting weak because of how many she has already healed for the past days but Manang Elsa surprisingly opened her windows and let them get in to be healed. Also after Seth's neighbors were healed Jed and Cookie also arrived and accommodate themselves for healing. After that all her neighbors started to notice that their diseases are gone and they are healed and so with Cookie. They celebrated as thanksgiving for the good things that happened to them but after that they have noticed something strange when one of their neighbors Chona (Ces Quesada) was acting so differently after healed from his goiter. She seemed silent and unapproachable. After that incident, Seth also dreamed black birds inside her house and later saw Chona going out which seemed came from inside her house. Later they heard the news that Chona is dead due to suicide but before it happened she already acted so insane killing her neighbors that have passed by their house. This shocked them all and it didn't happened once when another neighbor also acted strange and like Chona also killed others and commits suicide.

This incident repeatedly happens to every one of them who were healed by Manang Elsa. So Seth went to Manang Elsa's house and investigates why this happens but as soos as he got there a bad news was revealed by Melchor that Manang Elsa was killed after healing Seth's neighbors. Melchor told her that Dario (Jhong Hilario), the one who collapsed after Seth's father was healed died during that time but Manang Elsa restored him and live again. That's why all the people that were healed after Dario lived one by one died because it cursed all the souls that were given to Dario, that's why he killed Manang Elsa to live forever taking the souls of the healed people. The only way to stop the curse is kill Dario, so Seth tried to talk and even tried to poison Dario but she can't do it so the curse continues until she realized that Cookie will be the last to die. Almost all of her healed neighbors died one by one, Seth also discovered that once she will see a duplicate being of her neighbors that the signal that he/she will be next. So they decided to watch over Cookie if she will act strange and Jed make his way to setup a surveillance camera to watch over Cookie. As the time goes, Cookie successfully escaped from her duplicate that will take over her once they will meet but later on ended to Seth's house and attempted to kill her since Cookie's duplicate already had her controlled. They struggled inside the house and even his son Jed was nearly possessed by evil duplicate but they are all saved when Melchor successfully entered prison with a gun and shoot Dario to death.

The movie was full of surprises and shock that everyone can chill on. It ended bloody also but was saved by exciting situations since her step daughter Cookie should be the last victim. Everything was ended by the death of Dario... I guess. The quick end might be a sign for a next horror movie.
